• The Captain Connection - Though the name 'Elby Dell' might be unfamiliar to some, it might be the man's moniker: 'Captain Eorzea' that might clue you in to the hero's identity! Earned on the stages of Gridania, made household under the eyes of Ul'dah's Coliseums, and to be carried by Elby until the day he returns to the Aetherial Sea.• The Adventurer Connection - Elby is an advent member of Eorzea's signature Adventurer's Guild and can be often found posted around any of it's three taverns. He is open to any work that any upstanding citizen might have for him, free of charge as per his humble heart! Have a job? Walk up and ask!• The Botanist Connection - Despite his profession as an adventurer, Elby still manages to practice his skills in the topic of botany and is more than willing to take on commissions for any flower, herb, or plant, no matter how large the shipment is or how rare the foliage. Have a piece in mind? Give him an ask!• The Shield Connection - Curiously enough, unlike other Gladiators or Paladins in the field of adventuring, Elby does not wield a sword. In fact, the only visible arm on his person (besides the left and right, of course) is a well-managed, richly-adorned rounded shield that is used as both a defenseive and offensive tool. Any good weapons connoisseur might find such interesting, which Elby would be more than happy to elaborate upon if asked!• The Troupe Connection - When Elby first arrived in Eorzea, he took to working for a small theatre troupe in Gridania. Performing under the moniker: 'Captain Eorzea', Elby and his fellow cast put on a wide variety of shows in hopes of earning Gil that could be donated to those affected most by the Seventh Umbral Calamity. Though those days have long since passed, it's possible that one might've seen him perform or, at the very least, heard his moniker be used in passing.• The Gladiator Connection - After bidding his life on the stage goodbye, Elby took to training with the Gladiator's Guild of Ul'dah, where he learned the basics of warfare. On occasion, he even participated in some of the minor tournaments held within Ul'dah's Coliseum under the same alias given to him beneath the Gridanian Amphitheater: 'Captain Eorzea'. Anyone piqued by arena combat or any gladiator worth their merits are like to have seen (or perhaps fought or bet) on the man in question.• The Steppe Connection - As of recent, Elby travelled to the Azim Steppe accompanied by his beloved Rajani Thantel and partook in the trial of Bardam's Mettle to become a Warrior of the Steppe! Perhaps you heard tale of a blue knight seeking to prove himself under the traditions of his wife-to-be amongst those of Reunion or the Qalli tribe.• The Aether Connection - Anyone greatly attuned to the aether of individuals can see that, as of recent, Elby's aether has been severely distorted and its natural flow disrupted by the presence of an ancient, unidentifiable magic surrounding his very being and keeping it bound together. Though it poses no lifelong harm to the man, the disruption has severed his ability to use most natural magicks. How curious.
